Woodland Hills is an affluent community in the southwestern San Fernando Valley which is located within the City of Los Angeles. Woodland Hills is north of Malibu and Topanga, south of West Hills, west of Tarzana, and east of Calabasas and the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space PreserveWarner Center, located within Woodland Hills, is a major retail, office, and employment center in the west San Fernando Valley. The south side of Woodland Hills is located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. The Chalk Hills, located in Woodland Hills, run perpendicular to the Santa Monica Mountains.

 

Woodland Hills Country Club

Woodland Hills Country Club is a private member owned club located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains in Woodland Hills. The 18-hole championship course was designed by William "Billy" Bell. The club includes a large clubhouse, dining rooms, and banquet facilities. The views are impressive.

 

Woodland Hills Recreation Center

Woodland Hills Park - Shoup Park

The Woodland Hills Recreation Center is a 19 acre community park and recreation center that is sometimes referred to as Shoup Park. The center features an outdoor unheated swimming pool, a lighted baseball diamond, lighted basketball courts, lighted tennis courts, a lighted football field, an indoor gym, a children's play area, picnic tables, and lots of shade trees and open space. The facility is maintained and operated by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. An extensive sports program and series of classes is offered each year.

 

Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital

The Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital, established in 1948, is a retirement community in Woodland Hills that provides individual cottages, plus a fully licensed acute care hospital. The facility provides services through the Motion Picture & Television Fund to members of the motion picture and television industry. To qualify for a cottage, applicants must be at least 70 years of age, and must have worked steadily in the entertainment industry for at least twenty years. Famous residents have included Bud Abbott, Mary Astor, Joel McCrea, Hattie McDaniel, Johnny Weismuller, and many others.

 

Valley Cultural Center

The Valley Cultural Center, founded in 1975, serves the cultural needs of the greater San Fernando Valley by providing concerts, performing arts, and special events through its free Concerts on the Green program. Performances are held at the Warner Ranch Park in Woodland Hills. The program is run by the Los Angeles City Department of Recreation and Parks.

The Agoura-Woodland Hills Pony Club (AWHPC) is a charter member of the United States Pony Club, a non-profit organization. The club teaches horsemanship and the care of horses to young people through the age of 21. The AWHPC is located in the unincorporated community of Agoura which is between Agoura Hills and Calabasas, just west of Woodland Hills and the San Fernando Valley. The facilities are on 2 acres of land and include 30 stalls, 2 dressage rings, an enclosed jumping arena, a cross-country course, and direct access to adjacent public parkland that extends for miles.

Serrania Park

Serrania Park is a community park in Woodland Hills just south of Ventura Boulevard off of Serrania Avenue, which is also Desoto Avenue. The park offers hiking trails, walking paths, picnic tables, restrooms, a children's play area, and a convenient location in the west San Fernando Valley.
