Oak Park, California
Oak Park is an affluent, unincorporated area of Ventura County located immediately north of Agoura Hills and just to the east of the exclusive North Ranch area of Westlake Village in the Conejo Valley. The Cheseboro Canyon and Palo Comado Canyon are to the immediate east of Oak Park. The Oak Park School District is considered to be among the best school districts in the United States.
Oak Park is primarily a residential community, but borders the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area which is to the north and east. Simi Peak, the highest peak in the Simi Hills, is directly north of Oak Park. It stands at 2,403 feet. Major employment centers are located within 15 to 30 minutes driving time in Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, and the San Fernando Valley.
Oak Park Open Space
Oak Park Open Space commonly refers to the open space wilderness preserve located adjacent to and north of the Agoura Hills Open Space, making it one large permanently protected area consisting of rolling hills. The space is further subdivided into the Rock Ridge Open Space, the Sunrise Meadows Open Space and the Wistful Vista Open Space. The Oak Park Open Space is located adjacent to Medea Park and Medea Creek, within the community of Oak Park which is an unincorporated area in the Conejo Valley and Ventura County. The joint area serves as a habitat for rabbits, and other wildlife, including coyotes from time to time. In addition, the area provides nesting areas for various types of birds native to the Conejo Valley.
Oak Park Wildlife Corridor
The Oak Park Open Space together with the Simi Hills to the north are part of an important wildlife corridor that links the Santa Monica Mountains to the Santa Susana Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains. Without the corridor, many animals would have difficulty finding others of the same species for mating purposes, leading to the possible extinction of those species.
Oak Park Community Center and Gardens
The Oak Park Community Center and Gardens consists of an indoor gymnasium, recreation room, 2,500 square foot banquet room with a capacity of 140, nature center, waterfall, pond, gazebo, and rest rooms. It is available for rent by the public and is located in Oak Park, Ventura County.
Community Foundation for Oak Park
The Community Foundation for Oak Park, established in 1979, supports community projects and programs by acting as a governing body and tax-exempt umbrella for various groups. More than half of the funds raised are spent in support of the students of the Oak Park Unified School District and more than half of the volunteers are involved in school related programs. Other funds are used to support Friends of the Oak Park Library and the Community Emergency Response Team.

Eagle View Park
Eagle View Park is a neighborhood park in the northern part of Oak Park, Ventura County located east of Lindero Canyon Road and north of Kanan Road. The park, which is maintained by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, features hiking trails, a bicycle path, lagoon and stream, picnic tables, two children’s play areas, a basketball court, and lots of shade trees and open space. The park is surrounded by hills and open space and offers great views.
Golden Eagle Trail
Golden Eagle Trail is a 2.44 mile hiking trail in Oak Park, California which is in Ventura County just north of Agoura Hills and east of Westlake Village and North Ranch. The trail is a partial loop running from its northern point at Golden Eagle Drive, just east of Lindero Canyon Road, southwest to a point just north of Kanan Road at Oak Hills Drive. A portion of the trail runs through Oak Canyon Community Park which is at the southern edge of the Simi Hills.

Medea Creek Park is located at Conifer and N. Media Creek Lane in Oak Park just south of the Oak Park Library and Oak Park High School, and north of Chaparral Park. The park features a hiking trail and fitness circuit, and plenty of mature shade trees and open space. The park offers great views of the hills surrounding Oak Park.
Chaparral Park
Chaparral Park is located south of Medea Creek Park and east of the Oak Park Open Space Preserve. The park features uncovered picnic tables, barbeques, a children’s play area, a tot lot, and lots of shade trees and open space. The park offers beautiful views of the hills surrounding Oak Park.
Rancho Las Virgenes
Rancho Las Virgenes was the 17,760 acre Spanish land grant given in 1802 that included present day Oak Park, Agoura Hills, part of Westlake Village, and a portion of the Simi Hills and Santa Monica Mountains. The Reyes Adobe, a historical site, built in 1845, is located in Agoura Hills. It is the oldest structure remaining in the Rancho Las Virgenes.
Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce
The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce, established in 1939, has more than 900 members and serves the communities of Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Oak Park, and Newbury Park. In addition, the chamber has members from Woodland Hills, Camarillo, Ventura, Moorpark, Calabasas, Simi Valley, and many other surrounding communities.
The Oak Canyon Community Park, which is adjacent to the Medea Creek, is located in Oak Park.
Oak Park and the surrounding areas of Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks were home to the Chumash People for thousands of years before the area was claimed by Spain and later by Mexico.
